Ay Caramba

Hola. You would think that after 6 years of Spanish classes, I would be able to write Happy Cinco De Mayo in Spanish. Well I got the Cinco De Mayo part down. As the tradition calls, I am celebrating the freedom of our Mexican neighbors, with a 12 pack of Corona, a piata for some stress relief, a sombrero to dance around and hopefully soon my friend Speedy Gonzalez with show me how to trick Daffy Duck in numerous and humorous occasions.

May 5th is also the birthday of my Mexican friend. He is also a firm believer of Communism and May 5th is the birth of Karl Marx. This day for him is like one big socialist party. He also resents Speedy Gonzalez, claiming its a racist portrayal of his people created by Mel Blanc (as if Mel was insinuating that all Mexicans are pursued by the black duck, a metaphor perhaps for the Europeans, and are very cunning and quick in their getaways) and that is exactly why were not friends anymore. Yet Ill wish him a happy birthday, wherever he is.

Speaking of holidays, May 3rd was Polish Independence day, which is quite confusing because even though the independence papers were signed, the country was still non-existent for another 100 years afterwards. Yet just like for Cinco De Mayo I got in the spirit of events. This includes a 12 pack of Zywiec (Polish beer), meaty kielbasa and my rendition of the Polka.

Next stop, the Puerto Rican day parade in June, where Ill salsa my way down 5th avenue.
